Heavy rain and fog poured over the Porcupine Hills today as rally crews battled the conditions and each other towards the finish of the rally. Pat Richard and Alan Ockwell took the win today in the brand new 2008 Subaru WRX STI.

Teams finished the day at Race City, the super special held in Calgary. As cars began pulling into service, it quickly became apparent that attrition was starting to affect teams. Antoine L’Estage was nowhere to be seen and Andrew Comrie-Picard arrived on a tow strap behind Warren Currie.

The clouds over Calgary parted this morning, only to close up and rain onto the first stages of the Rocky Mountain Rally. Attrition took effect early, knocking out teams over the first stages of the day.

The Rocky Mountain Rally is the second stop in the Canadian Rally Championship. Based in Calgary, Alberta, the rally is also the first gravel event of the season. Rain started falling yesterday, and is forecast throughout the weekend making conditions muddy and slick.
